Previous Law Updates: Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Act 45 of 1965

Pollution The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs determined 11 September 2009 as the date o­n which the National Environment Laws Amendment Act, 44 of 2008 (NELAA) came into operation. The NELAA amended the APPA by:

- Regarding this Act as a specific environmental management Act until section 60 of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2004, takes effect.

The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs determined 18 September 2009 as the date o­n which the National Environmental Laws Amendment Act, 14 of 2009 (AA) came into operation, except for sections 39 and 44. The AA amended the APPA by:

- Adjusting the penalties provided for in the APPA.
