Previous Law Updates: National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act 39 of 2004

Air The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs determined 11 September 2009 as the date o­n which the National Environment Laws Amendment Act, 44 of 2008 (NELAA) came into operation. The NELAA amended the NAMAQA by:

- Substituting Schedule 1 pertaining to the repeal of certain legislation in terms of section 60 of the NEMAQA.

The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs determined 18 September 2009 as the date o­n which the National Environmental Laws Amendment Act, 14 of 2009 (AA) came into operation, except for sections 39 and 44. The AA amended the NEMAQA by:

- Providing for a processing fee to review a licence; and
- Including directors or senior managers in a juristic person for the criteria for a fit and proper person.
