Previous Law Updates: National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act 57 of 2003

Protected Areas The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs determined 18 September 2009 as the date o­n which the National Environmental Laws Amendment Act, 14 of 2009 (AA) came into operation, except for sections 39 and 44. The AA amended the NEMPA by:

- Providing for increased measures of control over escaped animals; and
- Adjusting the penalties provided for in the NEMPA.
