All South African standards that were previously published by the South African Bureau of Standards with the prefix "SABS" have been redesignated as South African National Standards and are now published by Standards South Africa (a division of SABS) with the prefix "SANS". The Notices provide for a list of SANS standards and their new codes together with the equivalent SABS numbers, where applicable, for sake of convenience. The Standards mentioned in the Schedules 1, 2 and 3 to the Notices have respectively been issued, amended and cancelled in terms of section 16(3) of this Act. Schedule 4 gives the addresses of the various SABS offices where copies of the standards mentioned in the notice can be obtained. The Minister of Labour prescribed the scale of "Fees for Medical Aid" payable under section 76 of the Act, inclusive of the General Rules applicable thereto, with effect from the 1 April 2010, with regard to the following services, rendered on or after 1 April 2010 and exclude VAT, namely:
- chiropractic services (See GN 463 of GG 33228 of 28 May 2010); - physiotherapy services (See GN 462 of GG 33227 of 28 May 2010); - occupational therapy services (See GN 461 of GG 33226 of 28 May 2010); - private ambulance services (See GN 460 of GG 33225 of 28 May 2010); - orthotic and prosthetic services (See GN 459 of GG 33224 of 28 May 2010); - dental services (See GN 458 of GG. 33223 of 28 May 2010); - Services rendered by Doctors, Radiologists and Pathologists (See GN 457 of GG 33222 of 28 May 2010); and - private hospital and psychiatric hospital services (See GN 456 of GG 33221 of 28 May 2010).
The tariffs as set out in the schedules to these abovementioned notices are the amounts which may be claimed by the persons rendering the specific service.

The Minister of Health amended the Regulations relating to All Bottled Waters as set out in the schedule to the notice. These regulations are now known as the "Regulations relating to All Packaged Water". See Government Notice No. 455 of Government Gazette No. 33219 of 26 May 2010.

The Minister of Health made the Regulations Relating to the Withdrawal of Blood from a Living Person for Testing, as set out in the schedule to the notice. These regulations came into operation on 17 May 2010. See Government Notice No. 401 of Government Gazette No. 33188 of 14 May 2010.
The President determined 17 May 2010 as the date on which the following sections of the National Health Act came into operation:
- Section 55 which relates to the removal of tissue, blood, blood products or gametes from living persons;
- Section 56 which relates to the use of tissue, blood, blood products or gametes removed or withdrawn from living persons;
- Section 68 which relates to the Minister's power to make regulations relating to tissue, cells, organs, blood, blood products and gametes; and
- Section 93(1) which repeals section 23(b) of the Human Tissue Act, 65 of 1983.

The Minister of Health made amendments to the General Regulations (GNR 510 of 10 April 2003), by amending Regulation 18 thereof which relates to a licence to compound and dispense medicines; and Regulation 20, which relates to the period of validity of licence issued in terms of regulations 18 and 19. The Director General of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has promulgated notices in terms of this Act in respect of areas that may constitute a major fire hazard. These areas are:

The City of Cape Town enacted By-laws for Electricity Supply which by-laws include provisions on the following aspects, namely:
- General Conditions of Supply; - Responsibilities of Consumers; - Specific Conditions of Supply; - Systems of Supply; - Measurement of Electricity; - Electrical Contractors; - Cost of Work; and - Penalties.
The City of Cape Town Electricity Supply By-law promulgated under Provincial Notice No. 6114 on 12 March 2004 is hereby repealed. See Provincial Gazette No. 6727 of 16 April 2010.

The Minister of Health reconstituted the Professional Board for Dietetics to establish a new professional board to be known as the Professional Board for Dietetics and Nutrition, with effect from date of publication of the notice (i.e. 23 April 2010). Any reference in any prior legislation, regulations, rules, notices or policies to the Professional Board for Dietetics shall be deemed to be a reference to the reconstituted Professional Board (Professional Board for Dietetics and Nutrition). The Compensation Commissioner determined that the Return of Earning (section 82(1)) shall be on form W.As 8 (Annexure 8) with the particulars required therein and has furthermore repealed item 3 of the prescription which was published under Government Notice No. 241 of 5 March 2009. The Minister of Health made amendments to GNR 1249 published on 28 December 2009 relating to the Amounts to Increase Benefits and published same for general information. The amendments relate to benefits payable after a fixed date which has been determined as 1 August 2009 to be the date:
- on which an examination to determine the presence, nature and degree of a compensable disease was conducted; or - the day on which the first of such examinations commenced, or - the day on which a post-mortem examination was partially or wholly conducted on the person who allegedly died of compensable disease.

The Acting Director-General has determined, in accordance with Regulation 21 of the Regulations Relating to a Transparent Pricing System for Medicines and Scheduled Substances that the information, as set out in the schedule to the notice, must be submitted by licensed manufacturers or importers of medicines and scheduled substances before applying an increase to the single exit price. In addition, the notice provides for the procedure to be followed for notification of the intention to increase the single exit price. The Minister of Health made regulations relating to the labelling and advertising of foodstuffs, as set out in the schedule to the notice. These regulations will come into operation 12 months from the date of publication of the notice (i.e. 1 March 2011) except for regulation 52(5)(a) pertaining to nutrient content claims prescribed in Table 1A of the regulations, which shall come into operation 3 months after the date of publication of the notice (i.e. 1 June 2010).
