The Environment Conservation Act was amended by the Environment Conservation Amendment Act 50 of 2003 as follows:
o Amendments to enable the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism to make regulations regarding financial matters relating to identified waste types and regarding product control for waste management. o To provide the transfer of the administration of waste disposal sites from the Minister of Water Affairs and Forestry to the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, and matters connected therewith.
Note that the amendment has not yet commenced. A commencement date will be published in the Government Gazette.
