Spam is the electronic equivalent of junk mail.
Newsgroups, message boards and e-mail all are modes of communication open to Spam. Newsgroup and message board Spam are messages sent or posted which are unrelated to the topic of discussion of the particular news group or message board. Email Spam is any electronic mail message that is sent to a recipient(s) with whom the sender does not have an existing business or personal relationship and is not sent at the request of, or with the explicit consent of the recipient(s).
